As someone who lives on Baie road and heads up to Quyon often, it really starts to hit how long Alary road has been washed out — and how annoying it is to detour around to head up to Quyon, Shawville etc.

How annoying it must be for my Father to detour around while delivering the mail, and anyone else who lives down here, anyone coming to the dragway or down to their cottage.  AND especially the farmers who live directly on Alary road.

However I quickly realized my annoyance and other people’s are small compared to the importance of this road if anything were to happen to the 148.

A few years ago the 148 had washed out and Alary, Baie and Damas Perrier roads were used as detours.

Now let that sink in: for over 8 MONTHS we’ve had NO emergency route!

Why has it taken this long for the Municipality of Pontiac to fix a side road?

"At the Crossroads", an eight-foot tall obelisk, was officially dedicated at the Luskville Community Centre on Saturday, October 7. Each side of the monument is symbolic of the municipality’s history, showing aspects of local geology and biology, as well as the lives of First Nations people and European settlers.
