Despite torrential rain, the people of Pontiac again stood in respectful silence at the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Quyon Cenotaph on November 5th.

Although the damp knocked out the PA system, Cal Cummings MCed the event and read "In Flanders Fields". Special recognition was made for Father Michael Costello, who died this year after decades of selflessly serving the community here. Prayers were said by Catholic Deacon Bob Farmer and United Church student minister Eric Hebert-Daly. Wendy Desabrais opened the ceremony, singing "O Canada".

A detachment of soldiers from RCR2 in Petawawa formed the honour guard for the event.

One of the flag bearers, standing motionless as water poured down his face and doubtlessly inside his uniform, providing a moving example of endurance.

Mayor Roger Larose laying a wreath on behalf of the Municipality of Pontiac.

Drummer from the the Highland Mist Pipe Band during the two minutes silence.

Frank Renaud lays a wreath in honour of Korean War veterans.

Lest we forget.
