Members of the National Capital Commission (NCC), the Municipality of Pontiac (MoP) and the local community gathered on Nov. 15 to acknowledge the completion of renovations to the Luskville Falls trails and picnic area.

Warm weather and bright sunshine enticed a satisfactory number of the community to the Quyon war memorial on Sunday Nov. 5 for the annual Remembrance Day event. A detachment from 3RCR Airbourne from Petawawa and the pipe band Highland Mist helped ensure spectators, young and old, fully understood the importance of the ceremony. More than 40 wreaths were laid by those representing family members or organizations, including Pontiac MNA Andre Fortin.

In a remarkably short period of time, the columbarium - a free-standing wall designed to store funeral ashes in a cemetery - has been installed at St. Dominique's Catholic Church in Luskville. Following mass on October 16, Father Andre Picard and the congregation proceeded into the cemetery to bless and consecrate the columbarium, after which a cloud of coloured balloons were released in a silent celebration.

Many hands made light work at Lavender Ridge winery's 6th annual vendage: also rapidly becoming known as the best harvest party ever. Excluding 2015 when a late frost meant no harvest at all, Lavender Ridge owners Joanne Labadie and Doug Briden have laid on a massive feast for their willing workers every year. October 9th was no exception, with harvesters aged from six to over 60 happy to get into the grapes.
Although the doors have actually been open for months, Le Magazin du Fermier /The Farmer’s Store in Luskville celebrated its Grand Opening on September 17 with a free BBQ, giveaways and snacks for all.
