Cantley, jeudi le 29 juin 2017 – La Table autonome des aînés des Collines est sous le choc face à la décision du Ministère des Transports, de la Mobilité Durable et de l’Électrification des Transports du Québec de ne plus financer les transports effectués par des bénévoles partout au Québec et ce, dès 2018.

In 2018, seniors who need transportation for medical appointments will be left to fend for themselves everywhere in the province of Quebec

Luskville caterer Demeter Catering has teamed up with Beechgrove lamb producer JAE Farm to offer delicious, fresh, ready-to-eat food at the Bristol Farmers’ Market. JAE Farm has produced some lovely hand-made lamb sausages that are free from fillers or preservatives. Just spices and fresh herbs compliment the pasture-raised lamb. They can be purchased grilled for immediate eating on a pita with slaw and yogurt or frozen for cooking at home.

Be strong, Pontiac: community gym coming to Quyon

Getting fit and staying strong is an integral part of healthy living. Now these goals will be even easier to achieve in this municipality.

Catherine Beaudet, executive director of the Quyon Maison de la Famille (QMdlF), has managed to find funding to support the creation of a community gymnasium based in Quyon.

The news was made public at the QMdlF's Annual General Meeting on June 20. Beaudet had promised a special announcement after the usual AGM  business and she certainly delivered.

A good breakfast is the best way to start the day. And, every day across Canada, volunteers assemble at elementary schools at 6:30 a.m. to make sure young students get that best start.

On June 6, Le Club des petits déjeuners (The Breakfast Club) volunteers from Notre Dame de la Joie in Luskville and Ste. Marie in Quyon gathered to be rewarded with a breakfast of their own. But first they served breakfast for the kids of course!

Bristol Market back in action

Despite a slow start due to cool weather, the Bristol Farmers Market is back. Farmers and gardeners across the Pontiac are ready to serve you with the best of the region's finest meats, veggies, jams and pies, just to name a few of the delicious products on offer.

The market is open every Friday from 1 pm to 6 pm at the intersection of Ch. Aylmer and Hwy. 148. Make an effort and support our marvelous market gardeners and producers.

Red Cross prepares for second stage of flood relief

By coincidence or possibly serendipity, this week was the Canadian Red Cross's emergency preparedness week.... And we are all very grateful for the help from Red Cross.

As of this afternoon, (May 10), over $1.7M was raised by the public via the Red Cross to support those affected by this years flooding.

Pontiac2020.ca spoke to Quebec's regional vice president of the Red Cross, Pascal Mathieu.
