LA PÊCHE, LE 4 AVRIL 2016 — Vers 13 h 15 cet après-midi, sur le Croissant Soulière, dans la municipalité de Pontiac, deux (2) hommes de 24 ans de Gatineau furent pris la main dans le sac alors qu’ils venaient tout juste de quitter une résidence qu’ils venaient de dérober.

I don't know what you do when you listen to radio reports on the situation in Syria and the resulting refugee flood assaulting southern Europe.

Personally, I cry... which probably means I should stop listening to CBC in the car.

Just over the mountain in Wakefield, incredible things are happening: money is flowing into bank accounts and houses are being rented. Volunteers are forming committees and signing their names to forms to sponsor refugee families into the community.

In my younger years I tried to be a vegetarian. I was embracing the back-to-the-land dream of self-sufficiency, earth sheltered houses, that sort of thing. I tried cooking my way through the Moosewood Cookbook and indeed there are delicious recipes in there that I still use. But inevitably I would go to my parents’ for dinner.

Dollar General is owned by Marco Larcher and was opened in November 2015.

The store sells a huge array of housewares, toys and craft materials as well as a helium balloon bar with everything you need for a party. There is also a large grocery section with dry and canned goods as well as fresh bread and milk. Dollar General also has a hardware and petfood section.

Foundation laid for new Notre Dame de la Joie classrooms

Construction is well underway for the new building that will house six classrooms at the Luskville campus of La Vallee de la Voyageur school -- Notre Dame de la Joie, situated on Ch. du Village opposite St. Dominique's catholic church.

The access to the Luskville Falls is currently blocked for renovations to the picnic area, the car park, the climbing trail and the access road itself. According to the sign, these areas are actually closed to the public. However the day I was there, several cars were parked along Ch. Hotel de Ville: I assume the people had walked along the road to the falls regardless. In a related topic, the sound of water on rock right now sounds like a passing train.

*UPDATE: I called the NCC today -- third number lucky! -- and have this update. The rehabilitation of the trail is almost complete and  . . .

PONTIAC – About 30 members of the public attended the regular council meeting in Quyon, March 8, as well as two police officers who were asked to attend in case of disturbances. Councillors Howard and Middlemiss were away as volunteer fire-fighters.

Les deux accusés qui demeurent à Luskville, agissaient en qualité de coordonnateur auprès des jeunes qui se sont trouvés au camp qui appartient à une des soeurs des accusés ainsi qu'à leur mère. Selon nos informations, ces dernières n'ont toutefois rien avoir dans toute cette histoire. Le camp en question existe sous l'appellation actuelle depuis 1999 mais a déjà été connu sous le vocable de Maison de la Visitation.
